Boating and Marine
Whether you’re arriving by boat, or you’re looking to get out on the water while you’re here, Salt Spring Island offers boating options and amenities to suit your needs. Surrounded by the sheltered waters of the Southern Gulf Island, the marine parks and marina provide idyllic experiences for sightseeing the spectacular scenery from the water side.
If arriving by boat, there are dock and marina options to suit your needs and the area is rife with perfect sheltered anchorages. You’ll find showers, laundry and moorage handy to the central village of Ganges with marine equipment and hardware near by.
There are several options to take you out on the water if you came by car, foot, bicycle or plane. Kayaks, zodiacs, lunch cruises and whalewatching options are there for the taking. Check out Outdoor Visions, located at the Salt Spring Marina in Ganges for zodiac tours, Silver Spoon Charters or Salt Spring Lunch & Dinner Cruises for more information.
If you arrive in your own boat, in Ganges, you can take advantage of the Ganges Marina or the Salt Spring Marina, both within walking distance of all amenities the island has to offer, or check out the Salt Spring Sailing Club website for all they have to offer as well as more in-depth information on sailing the Gulf Islands.
There are also docks in Fulford and Fernwood and launching sites for the smaller vessels around the coastline.
